How to make macarons? Discover our special DIY macarons set!

After the success of the Macaron8, macarons shaped to digit 8 symbolizing Fortune & Prosperity in the Chinese culture, Le Ti Yan, big macaron shaped to our logo, and the Lovely, macarons shaped to small hearts, a lot of people came to us asking how to make macarons.

These French delicacies just need a few ingredients… but quite some skills and patience.

You already have access to the macaron’s recipe from the QR code printed inside the boxes. But to make things easier and fun, we have just launched a DIY macarons set for Chinese New Year 2021!

To allow you to start in a smooth way, you can first train your “piping” skills with the empty shells of macarons and our sea-salted caramel, provided with piping bags inside the set. Make sure the quantity piped is not too much or too few. After piping, put them at least 3 hours in the fridge before savouring them.

After this “small” challenge, you can now try to make your own macarons shells!

In the set, you have the dry ingredients:

  1. Sugar
  2. Icing sugar
  3. Almond powder

You just need 2 egg whites : ideally, you crack the eggs and separate the yolks and the whites the day before, then keep the whites in the fridge for 24 hours.

With these ingredients, you’ll get 25 macarons!

Follow step by step the video tutorial on the website / card recipe you will find in the DIY set and voilà, you have made your first macarons at home!

For the filing, you can:

  • Either do the sea-salted caramel sauce (only sugar, cream, butter and salt – recipe inside the set)
  • Or do the chocolate ganache (only chocolate and cream – recipe inside the set)

When you master all the process of the recipe, and even before 😉, don’t hesitate to create your personal shapes and flavours and show them to us by sending your photos, or adding them on Facebook or Instagram and tagging #tiyanacademy!!
